Katy Perry on Taylor Swift and the Eras Tour: What She Really Thinks

The Bad Blood era is ancient history!

If you survived the 2014 drama between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, you know nobody could’ve predicted they would go from frenemies to full-on besties.

From messy ex-boyfriend drama, feuds over dancers, to those iconic diss tracks (hello, Bad Blood and Swish Swish!), their rivalry was peak entertainment. But these days, it seems our fave pop girlies are all about love and support.

When Katy attended Taylor’s Eras Tour in Australia last February, the internet collectively lost its mind. The 143 artist dropped a carousel on Instagram, featuring a selfie with Tay, and a video of her reacting to her performance of Bad Blood: Yep, the song that kickstarted it all!

The post was captioned, “got to see an old friend shine tonight,” leaving both Swifties and Katy Cats shooketh as they witnessed this full-circle moment.

Katy Opens Up About ‘Catching Up’ With Taylor

During a 2024 interview with Capital UK that dropped this past Friday (January 17), Katy dished on what we can classify as a historic day. The Woman’s World singer shared her thoughts on the Eras Tour and how she feels about Taylor Swift post-feud.

When asked about her IG selfie with Taylor, Katy explained, “This is when I went to see the Eras Tour in Australia. I actually went and did a show in Australia very quickly, and I had one day off before the show.”

Recalling her experience at Taylor’s concert, Katy revealed that she texted Taylor before the show with a casual, “Hey girl, I’m gonna come to the show.”

And Taylor was totally hyped: “She was so excited, and I was so excited,” Katy added.

Katy Perry Swaps Friendship Bracelets with Swifties

Seated in Swift’s VIP tent during the show, it’s safe to say Katy loved the experience. She might actually be a Swiftie now, Tale Tellers:

“People gave me bracelets, and I think Rita Ora gave me a bracelet. I loved it. It’s just like a community. It’s an adorable, sweet community,” Katy said.

Oh, and the cherry on top? Katy “loves” Taylor. Her words, not mine:

“And I got to see [Swift], and we got to catch up, and I love her so much.”

Katy and Taylor Will Always Remind Us They’re Besties, Now

This isn’t the first time Katy has gushed over Taylor Swift, guys. The artists have been showing their love and support for each other since 2018, when Katy sent Taylor a handwritten letter and an olive branch as a peace offering. A year later, they had the internet shaking when they dressed up as a burger and fries in Taylor’s You Need to Calm Down music video.

And let’s not forget the moment Taylor embroidered a blanket for Katy’s daughter, Daisy Dove (can we talk about how “Auntie Taylor” is the cutest thing ever?).

In September 2024, it was Taylor’s turn to support her newfound sis when she was captured singing and dancing her heart out to Katy’s entire VMAs performance. Naturally, the “Swiftcats” lost their minds seeing Taylor partying to every song!

Seeing Katy and Taylor finally vibing together feels like a sigh of relief for the pop universe. What do you think about this legendary duo? Are burgers and fries truly the ultimate match? Sound off in the comments!
