Robin Thicke and Paula Patton announce separation

Maybe she couldn’t hear what he was trying to say, maybe she couldn’t read from the same page. Whatever the case, it’s well and truly over, folks!

Robin Thicke and his wife, Paula Patton have announced their separation.

The famous duo have decided to call their nine-year relationship quits. Thicke and Patton have confirmed that the split was a mutual decision.

Patton told People,

“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.”

The Blurred Lines hit maker and Baggage Claim actress got together as teenagers in 1991 when Thicke was only 14. They married in 2005 and now have a four-year-old son Julian Fuego.

It’s laughable that people are insinuating the couple have had rough times thanks to Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus’ steamy VMA performance. Patton even defended her husband at the time saying,

“Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don’t know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your… all my friends do it like that.

“And, I don’t really know what the big deal is.”

After so many years together, it’s undeniably sad hearing about this break-up.

UPDATE 09/10/14: Paula Patton has filed for divorce from Robin Thicke. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason and is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the couple’s son Julian, according to TMZ.

As an avid blogger and someone who eats, sleeps and breathes entertainment, I decided to take matters into my own hands and establish a showbiz-themed website. Ever since I can remember, I've been interested in the world of celebrities, have listened to the latest music, and watched the newest movies. My guilty pleasure is watching cheesy reality shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but I’m also a sucker for all things Marvel and DC - two entirely different worlds, I know. Other than writing about showbiz, I’m also a part-time freelancer, crafting articles for websites like Career Addict and Pangea.
