Naya Rivera has spilled the tea, ladies and gents! It may have almost been two years since Glee ended but the behind-the-scenes gossip is still just as juicy. Even details about her break-up with Big Sean come as interesting news…

Naya didn’t hold back in revealing some shocking truths about her fellow Glee cast and ex-fiance in her latest memoir, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up. She even threw some shade at Ariana Grande! Want the nitty gritty details? Have a look at what she had to say…

On her Beef with Lea Michele

It seems Santana and Rachel’s beef was transferred off-screen too:

“One of the Glee writers once said that Lea and I were like two sides of the same battery and that about sums us up. We are both strong willed and competitive—not just with each other but with everyone—and that’s not a good mixture”

Naya implied that Lea was just as competitive as her character, Rachel:

“As the show progressed, though, that friendship started to break down, especially as Santana moved from a background character to one with bigger plot lines and more screen time. I think Rachel—erm, I mean Lea—didn’t like sharing the spotlight.”

“On top of that, she had a hard time separating work from our outside friendship, whereas it was a lot easier for me…I’m not offended when people offer feedback or criticism, and if things get heated on set, I try to keep perspective. We’re all stressed, yes, but we’re all working toward the same goal, so laugh it off and keep it movin’. Lea was a lot more sensitive, though, and it seemed like she blamed me for anything and everything that went wrong.”

Lea may have said that there was no feud between the two but she failed to mention this little secret – Lea and Naya didn’t speak to each other throughout the filming of season 6:

“If I’d complained about anyone or anything, she’d assumed I was bitching about her. Soon, she started to ignore me, and eventually it got to the point where she didn’t say a word to me for all of Season 6…Lea and I definitely weren’t the best of friends, and I doubt we’ll ever sit on her couch and eat kale together again, but the rumors of our ‘feud’ were blown out of proportion.”

On Mark Salling and his Arrest

Naya wasn’t “shocked” when she heard about Mark’s arrest:

“I can’t say I was totally shocked, but still–WTF…My son’s nanny actually told me about it when the story broke. Then I had no doubt that God really did have my back along the way.”

She’s glad her relationship with Mark didn’t last:

“When Mark dumped me, I thought it was the worst thing ever, but can you imagine if that didn’t happen? And I was laying there in bed when the battering ram came through the door? I think everyone should have that one relationship where you look back and ask yourself, ‘What the hell was I thinking?’ You’ll learn something and you won’t regret it, unless, of course, that relationship was with someone who had a sizable stash of child porn on his computer. Then, by all means, regret everything.”

On Cory Monteith and his Death

When the Glee cast had a party, she was shocked to see Cory drinking again – especially knowing he had been sober for years:

“He noticed that we noticed. He explained that he wanted to be able to drink in moderation, that he could do it and be just like everybody else. He seemed calm and confident about it, so we all just accepted it. To be honest, I don’t think many of us really understood how addiction worked, nor did we fully realize the extent of his former addiction.”

When Naya heard about Cory’s passing on the telephone, she “was shocked” and the news took time to “sink in”:

“We barely got a moment to breathe at all. Everything just happened so fast— after one take several of us were bawling and trying to pull ourselves together when someone popped their head in the room and said, ‘At least you guys are acting, right? It’s not like it’s real life. Great job!’”

Naya admits that she still misses Cory and that she felt regret when he died:

“I still think that Cory had so much to live for, and for me that’s the worst part about his death — that is was so unnecessary. I miss everything about him.

“I doubt I’m alone in feeling a lot of regret about his death. Since he died, a lot of us have spent time wondering and talking about what would have happened if someone had stepped in or confronted him about what was going on. Or what if he’d been trying to talk to someone about what was going on and just thought no one cared? Like, maybe that one time when it was just the two of us walking out to our cars, maybe if I would have just walked a little bit slower and hadn’t been in such a hurry to get home, maybe he would have seen it as an opportunity to bring something up, you can drive yourself crazy like that, because no number of ifs will ever make anything different.”

On Cory Monteith and Lea Michele’s Relationship

Naya admits that Lea changed Cory when she started dating him:

“When Cory and Lea started dating, it was a total surprise. The more serious they got, the less Cory hung out with us and the more he seemed like a different person.”

“My personal feelings for Lea aside, I knew that she wasn’t a partier, so I felt like maybe their relationship could actually be good for him. I was happy for Cory to have a stable influence in his life, wherever it was he found it.”

On Big Sean and Ariana Grande

Naya had a key to Sean’s house and found the pop princess there one day:

“We’d been fighting for five straight days while he was traveling, and then on the one day that he was back in L.A., he said he didn’t want to see me.”

“Well, a–hole, I’ve got a key to your house, I walk in, go downstairs, and guess what little girl is sitting cross-legged on the couch listening to music?… It rhymes with ‘Smariana Schmande.”

She learned about her breakup on the internet:

“I learned that I was no longer getting married from the Internet, and at the same time as the rest of the world. Not only were we no longer getting married, but apparently we weren’t even together anymore.”

Let’s just say Naya certainly isn’t sorry about her harsh words! We’re guessing there won’t be a reconciliation between Naya and Ariana Grande anytime soon!

We’re hoping she’ll squash her beef with Lea Michele though. We want the Glee cast to live happily ever after, even years after the show has ended.

Naya also talks boob jobs and abortions in her debut book. Want to read the whole thing? You can buy it on Amazon:
